The Meter Reader tells users
clearly what they are spending in electricity. Costs are
displayed in dollars and cents, and calculated by
determining usage and multiplying it by their billing
rate. The Meter Reader displays
usage and costs, in the following manners:
- Cost of electricity consumed in dollars/cents
- Cost of electricity consumed in kilowatt-hours (kWh)
- Amount of the next electric bill in dollars/cents
- Daily Usage in dollars/cents and kWh
- Power being consumed (kW)
- Amount of days, hours and minutes monitored
The Meter Reader installs easily on the electric breaker panel (110/220V) box. Users simply install the unit, set
the rate and press the reset button to start measuring
electric consumption in kilowatt hours (kWh).
The Meter Reader is purchased
primarily by homeowners, renters and apartment owners and
by U.S. utility companies, electrical contractors, air
conditioner contractors, and energy professionals. An
international version also exists for clients outside of
the U.S.
Energy Monitoring Technologies, Inc. was founded by two
ex-utility employees with a combined experience of over
40 years in the industry. From their own experience, and
using research performed by electric utilities, they
found that consumers are interested in "whole house
